Took my family there based today based on the positive write-up in the Express News. The place has an original feel to it.Ordering was fairly quick and the menu is fairly simple. The lady that took our order was nice and efficient.

For the food, the sausage was excellent, as were the pinto beans, even though that serving was smaller than I would expect for the price of the meal. The potato salad was very good except there was only salt (no pepper) available with in the condiment section of the restaurant.

But if you own a BBQ place, the premier item should be the brisket or ribs.We didn't have the ribs but the brisket was dry and chewy. No points there! And in the food service business, presentation is everything. So why was top slice of brisket on my plate mainly fat and very little meat? Who would serve something like this to a friend or neighbor; much less a customer?

My wife had the baked potato and brisket. It's a meal for two for sure. It was tasty and plenty to eat. But the brisket contained a little too much fat.

Overall, happy with the meal overall, but this was a one time visit from a north-sider family. Won't be back for more.
