Best Barbecue Joint – New York – Reader’s Poll
What is the best BBQ Joint in New York? There really isn’t a ‘New York’ style of BBQ, so instead it’s a mash up of styles from all four major BBQ regions with a dash of everything in between. This combined with incredible pitmasters (some of them with strong culinary backgrounds) provides for a wealth of potential joints to choose from.

are we talking NYC or all of NY State including upstate? If we are talking upstate lots of good choices such as Sticky Lips in Rochester or Unkle Moe’s in Rochester!

BLUE SMOKE!
The Memphis ribs are fabulous and the peppered beef brisket is out of this world.
Plus, the desserts are incredible.
Fette Sau a close second.

Because as you pointed out, there is no NY Style, it’s hard to pick just one place as different places do different things right. For me, I’d have to go:
ribs – Virgils
chicken – wildwood
pork – Daisy Maes
brisket – Hill Country
favorite bbq dish – burnt ends platter at R.U.B.
favorite bbq place to show off/impress – Fette Sau
Overall bbq place that makes me think I’m not in NYC.. I’d have to go with Hill Country.
