I have to thank Wilfred from Oshawa Ogre’s Views, News & BBQ’s for the scoop on a an article about a new BBQ Joint that opened over a month ago in Glen Burie, Maryland called Mission BBQ. From their site, “It’s about America the beautiful. And the delicious. Where we worked hard and traveled the country for our jobs. Along the way, we made a few stops (ok, a LOT of stops) to meet the proud purveyors of our country’s greatest contribution to culinary arts: BBQ! From Texas to Kansas City, the Carolinas to St. Louis, and all the tasty local joints on back roads and in backyards nationwide, we grilled the Grill-Masters. Learned their secret sauces. Sampled the best they had to offer again and again. (That’s called “research.”) Then we brought it all home to share.”

“Our Mission is to give friends and neighbors a place they can feel good about while sitting down to a great meal the American Way. We also believe in giving back to our community, so some of the proceeds from your lunch or dinner could be helping out the same people sitting next to you: Your local firefighters and police officers. Young men and women in the military who’ve answered the call for freedom. Charities that make a difference for those in need right here in our area. This is honest, pleased-to-feed-you, All-American fare. No imports here, we’re strictly homegrown. It’s YOUR place, so bring the whole squad. You’re always welcome.”
Their menu HERE is a mix of many styles: Brisket – Texas Inspired, (Sliced to Order), Pulled Pork (Slow Smoked and Hand Pulled), Turkey(Sliced, Lean & Mean), Sausage (Jalapeno & Chz or Classic #41) Chicken – A Juicy Yard Bird (l/2 Bird), and Turkey. By the Bone/5 Bone/10 Bone “Bay-B-Back” Ribs (Distinctly Maryland) and Spare Ribs (St. Louis Style). Looks like they have about 6-7 hand made sides too.
