I used to eat at Dr Hogley Wogleys back in the late 90′s and it was fantastic. All the servers wore tshirts with the bubble letters from the 80′s and the tables were all Formica. Walls were paneling, and the ribs were to die for. Not sure if I ever ordered sausage but the brisket was good. I hope places like this don’t die and get replaceced by TGIF.

I went when I first moved to LA from Austin and remember not being impressed at all. I was so hopeful since it had “Texas” in the name even if it was Tyler, TX…at least it would be a taste of BBQ from home….not so much. I remember there was tons of sauce and I remember it being overly moist. Disappointed in the ribs and sausage too. I asked the waitress if the owners were from Texas and she siad original owners were, but not the current owners. Needless to say I have not been back in 8 years. Would be interested to hear your review now that you have Central Texas BBQ experience under your belt.
