The CHOCOLATE in Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue – Photo Story

A lot of attention falls on the barbecue portion of the name Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue, in Tomball, Texas, but the ‘chocolate‘ component is just as noteworthy and definitely should be celebrated.

In a small chocolate Craftory in Tomball, TX hand-crafted award winning chocolate is created using only premium cocoa beans sourced from cacao farms around the world. For Tejas, making chocolate is about letting the origin of cacao reveal its own character in chocolate flavor. By using minimal and pure ingredients the complexities of cacao tell us the story of their origins in something wonderful & delicious. Their method is uniquely Texan AND inspired by traditional artisan chocolate makers.

Opened in October 2015, The Tejas Chocolate + Barbecue is a “craft-factory” where quality foods & beverages are crafted by hand.  Of course they offer incredible Texas barbecue (see menu HERE) to pair with these chocolate delicacies (or vice versa).  The Tejas kids also offer craft beers, great wine, and locally roasted coffee. Basically paradise. They are open Tuesday through Friday 11am – 6pm and Saturday from 11am – 5pm (Closed Sunday and Monday).

Per Scott Moore there will be 25-35 types on any given day. Standard daily truffles: Frost Bite, Nutty Buddy, Pecan Praline, Whiskey Old Fashioned, Double Espresso, Martha Washingtons, Raspberry Flutter, Bananas Foster, Good Life, Cherries Jubilee, Grasshopper, and Mint. All are single origin from Belize, Domincan Republic, Madagascar, or Peru.

Also, also they have a burger joint in Tomball called Tejas Burger Joint and the Tejas To-GO Market HERE. Learn more about their chocolate making process HERE. Below are photos of their truffles and other chocolate offerings from over the years along with brief descriptions.
